—   Child Dedication

Dedicated
to the Lord.

Your child is a gift from God. Child dedication is a moment to thank Him, pray over your child, and commit to raising them to know and follow Jesus.

We’d be honored to take this step with your family. Begin by reading the guide and listening to the message for parents.

Parents hold their child as a pastor prays during child dedication at Pillar Church.

—   What is it?

A commitment before God.

Child dedication is a public moment of prayer in which believing parents or legal guardians entrust their child to the Lord and commit to raising them according to His Word.

—   Why do we do it?

Faith begins at home.

We recognize children as gifts from God. Dedication expresses a family’s desire to follow Jesus, teach His Word, model faith at home, and grow within a church community.

Questions about
dedication?

Who can dedicate a child?

Child dedication is a commitment made by believing parents or legal guardians. They should submit the request and take part with their child. Grandparents and loved ones are welcome to attend; the ceremony normally centers on the parents and child.

Is dedication the same as baptism?

No. Dedication is a parent’s commitment to raise a child in the Lord. Baptism is a person’s own public declaration of faith in Jesus. Learn about water baptism.

What should we do before signing up?

Print and read the dedication guide, then listen to the message for parents. Once you’ve completed both, fill out the request form so our team can help you take the next step.

When does child dedication happen?

Dedications take place during the final 10 minutes of a scheduled Sunday morning service. Our Pillar Kids Director will confirm your date and explain where to meet before the service.

Can we request a different Sunday?

If the listed dates don’t work, a parent or legal guardian can email kids@pillarchurch.life with three possible Sundays. Our team will review the service calendar and confirm an available date.

Can family and friends come?

Absolutely. Invite them to join the service and pray with you. Send them our Plan Your Visit form so we can prepare to welcome them.
